IComp - Institute of Computing
The Institute of Computing (IComp) is the newest UFAM's academic unit, being created from the Department of Computer Scence (DCC). This institute is formed by professors in all computing area. As all academic unit, IComp acts in teaching, research and extension, besides administrative activities.
Under-graduate (Level) Teaching
In Under-graduate (level) Teaching, IComp acts mainly in the following courses: Computer Science, Information Systems and Computer Engineering. IComp also offers computing basic classes for 27 other courses in 7 different academic units.
Post-graduation Teaching
In Post-graduate Teaching, IComp acts in courses of Master and Doctorate in Informatics of Post-graduate Program in Informatics (PPGI). IComp also attends demands from other programs, such as IComp's professors act in the Master course in Electric Engineering, contributing to improve the assessment of other UFAM's post-graduate programs.
Research
In research, IComp has a strong participation in 9 (nine) computing subareas, distributed in 6 research lines, which one if a specific laboratory.
Extension
In extension, IComp acts mainly in extracurricular courses and research and development (R&D) projects in collaboration with industries and technologic companies located in Manaus.
